The Greatest Supercross Race Ever? Anaheim 1986
This is a great video put together by the guys at Racer X Illustrated to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the famous 1986 Anaheim Supercross race. Having grown up racing motocross, the American riders were my heros and nothing was more spectacular than the thought of a Supercross in front of 70 000 fans!
The legends of the day were guys like Jeff Ward, Broc Glover, Danny “Magoo” Chandler and the Factory Honda team of youngster Rick Johnsonand the established master David Bailey.
The video is 10 minutes long and tells the story of this epic battle through the eyes of the riders, the mechanics and the team manager, 5 time 500cc World Motocross Champion, Roger deCoster.
Also check out the awesome riding gear in the photo. You gotta love Baileys open face helmet and fluro JT Racing armour, plus those lovely white Fox Racing boots on Johnson! Stylin.
