Bell Jet Helmet – Steve McQueen ISDT 1964 replica

Submitted by on July 28, 2009

The retro trends keeps powering on with Bell releasing a replica of the helmet worn by the US Team in the 1964 ISDT (International Six-Day Trial).

The most famous member of this team was none other than Hollywood legend and motorsport competitor Steve McQueen.

The 1964 International Six Day Trial was held in East Germany and McQueen rode a mighty Triumph 650.

The East Germans won the event for the second year running whilst the U.S “A” team, of which McQueen was a member, finished 16th and the US “B” team finished last and 19th.

This helmet looks pretty cool, however, it’s a lot of money for an open face lid.

The McQueen Bell Jet RT helmet  is individually hand painted to order, and can be purchased through Grand Prix Legends for A$600

Standard Bell Jet retro lids in plain black or white can be purchased for A$340
