Toyota motorsport photos 1970s
Despite its beige image, Toyota has been involved in just about every conceivable category of motorsport on earth.
In these mainly Australian based photos there are some great reminders of Toyota’s diverse racing machinery.
There are classic shots of Peter Williamson’s various Celicas from the Bathurst 1000, when there were numerous classes and manufaturers competing, nice images of single seaters at Amaroo, Rally Corollas, and a mighty sports sedan. (Driven by who?)
There is also a great shot of the Toyota 7 Can-Am car, which I think was actually from the late 1960s and never raced outside Japan after killing two test drivers.
