Replica race bikes from Kiddimoto

Submitted by on January 12, 2010

If you have kids under five there is a good chance you already know a lot about balance bikes. They are a fantastic toy for the development of balance, steering, awareness and motor skills; very important for the tidy steerers of the future. My dad Ray made a brilliant one for my son Jack when he was just two and a bit. By the time he turned four he could ride a regular push bike with ease and has now graduated to an electric trials bike!

Jack rides his balance bike everywhere and he just loves its custom made look. Now Kiddimoto has upped the ante in the style stakes and is producing a range of fabulous Grand Prix replica balance bikes for budding Casey Stoners.

My personal favourite is the officially licensed Barry Sheene replica. The bike features that famous number 7 and includes Barry’s signature on the tank.

Also available in the “hero collection” is the Mike ‘The Bike’ Hailwood model, which is a replica of his 1967 Championship winning Honda XYZ.

“Scramblers” are also available, along with a customisation service that would allow you to create just about any classic machine you desire.

The Kiddimoto juggernaut even includes a retro styled helmet printed with vintage racing goggles!

This is what the Kiddimoto crew have to say:

“The Kiddimoto Heroes Superbike is based on real motorbikes ridden by real Hero World Champion riders. The Superbike range of Kiddimoto wooden balance bikes include the classic design feature found on the real thing, including fairings, underseat exhaust pipes, styled tanks and tails and a sculptured rear swinging arm. This range of bikes are available in 19 colour schemes. So you are sure to find something for your child that looks very similar to your favourite bike. The Kiddimoto Superbike balance bike is a sleek design, with a comfortable riding position, ideal for children to learn riding and balance skills from the age of 2 years upwards.”

The bikes are available in the UK from Kiddimoto.co.uk for £120. You can grab one in Oz from kiddimoto.com.au for A$349.
