From the skill and balance of trials champion whose skill and achievement covered the two very different eras of trials riding, [that of the larger type 4 stroke machine to the smaller 2/4 stroke he helped develop] to the speed and bravery of circuit racing.
Whilst it may not be his finest ride, in my opinion his ride on a Ducati in the 2008 Isle of Man, was inspiring. Here we had a 75 year old on a borrowed bike, riding it as if he was 25 year old, and yes he crashed it, but he fixed it and everyone lived to tell the tale.
But he had a go.
Go Sammy Go!!!!!
