Close Up Photo Gallery: Phillip Island Classic 2010

Submitted by on March 22, 2010

The Phillip Island Classic was an absolute ripper. The weather was beautiful and the atmosphere was fantastic.  People were smiling and the smell of petrol and the sound of racing engines stimulated the senses.

The pit garages and paddock were full of glorious sport cars, touring cars, single seaters and thundering F5000s and the teams made all the fans welcome. Shannon’s had their bus, with Jack Brabham doing autograph sessions across the weekend.

The paddock was full of trade suppliers stocking the usual range of goodies including wheels, T shirts, books, art, performance parts and memorabilia. Over the bridge the car clubs had assembled an array of classic machinery to perv on, with Shannon’s putting on an expo with yet more classic machinery.

To wet the appetite, here are some close up photos to enjoy.

A full report with more images, including the on track action, will follow.
