Driver crashes into crowd at Goodwood Festival of Speed
None of the four people struck by the car required hospital treatment, but were attended to by emergency services at the scene.
It has been reported by some spectators that the driver appeared to floor the throttle of the vehicle, which left the Honda stand and eventually crashed into the back of the hall.
“A spokesperson for Goodwood said: “At 12:40 today (Thursday July 1) an incident occurred within the exhibition hall at the Goodwood Moving Motor Show when a driver of a slow moving car blacked out, lost control of his vehicle and injured four people.
“None of the four people involved have sustained any major injuries, and have not been hospitalised. They have been treated on-site as a precaution.”
It’s the first time that Lord March has extended the festival by a day, to incorporate a moving motor show where selected members of the public could drive manufacturers new cars up the hillclimb.
