Submitted by on May 10, 2011

Riders will be hoping for a sunny weekend for the annual Crawford River Classic Vintage Motocross race at Buladelah on May 21-22.

The famous VMX event run by the HEAVEN VMX club will see competitors travelling from as far as Queensland and Victoria for a spectacular weekend of racing.

A premier event on any VMX racers calendar, the grid is expected to surpass last years huge 120 entries. NSW based riders will be very keen to keep the trophies in NSW, no doubt the interstate  riders will be equally keen to get their hands onto the silverware.

Trophy winners from last years Crawford River Classic are :

Roy East Memorial Trophy (pre 65) Mark Austin #18

John Hine Memorial Trophy (pre 70) Ross Merrick #14

Geoff Eldridge Memorial Trophy (pre 75) Greg Bilton #32

Ray Ryan Memorial Trophy (pre 78)  Sean Hardman #43

Team Motorsport Retro will be taking two riders and four bikes and we will be contesting the Ray Ryan Memorial Trophy (Pre 78) race on our “new” 1977 Husky WR390.

This event has been designed specifically to encourage Pre 65, Pre 70, Pre 75 and pre 78 classic dirt bikes out of the shed and onto the track!

The Bulahdelah Classic Motocross complex includes a number of circuits – a grass track specifically designed  by Jim Pomeroy for the demands of Pre 65, 70, 75 &  Pre 78 racers and is fun for evo and pre 85 bikes as well.
