Ride onboard with Johnny Herbert in the Mazda the 787B, as he laps Le Mans for the first time in 20 years.

Herbert famously drove a massive final stint and steered the rotary powered Mazda to a popular, and historic victory in 1991.

The 2011 lap was part of Mazda’s demonstrations at Le Mans to mark 20 years since their epic win

    Awesome! Not only seeing this iconic car speeding around the Circuit de la Sarthe but seeing the look on Herbert’s face when he got out. Not to mention the wonderful sound of the rotary engine (love the speed of the diesels but hate the lack of sound)!!

    Wonderful video! The exuberance on Johnny Herbert’s face speaks volumes. there is also a Mike Hawthorn video of Le Mans on youtube somewhere. I look forward to comparing the two.
