Submitted by on September 9, 2011No Comment

Five years ago this week Australia lost motor racing legend Peter Brock when he hit a tree driving in the Targa West Rally.

Peter Brock, otherwise known as “Peter Perfect”, “The King of the Mountain” or simply “Brocky” was one of Australia’s best-known, most loved and most successful drivers. Brock is most often associated with Holden, although he raced for other manufacturers including BMW, Ford, Volvo, Porsche and Peugeot during his career.

He won the Bathurst 1000 nine times, the Sandown 500 nine times, the Australian Touring Car Championship three times and also raced at Le Mans in 1984. He was amazing with the fans and he had a unique ability to connect with people and make them feel special.

A true legend.
