Jim Rathmann, the winner of the 1960 Indianapolis 500, has died at the age of 83.
Jim’s fame came about through a fantastic run of success at the Indy 500. He finished second in the legendary 500-mile race in 1952, ’57 and ’58, before winning the race in 1960.
The 1960 race has gone down as an all time classic when Rathmann driving a Watson-Offenhauser beat Rodger Ward in a race long duel.
