Best of the Cahier Archive: Sideways action

Submitted by on February 28, 2012

In modern day Formula 1 a recurring criticism is how rare it is to see the cars move around, and how difficult it is to gauge how hard the drivers are working. No one doubts the pilots are supreme athletes, and that the cars are being pushed to incredible limits, but sometime we don’t want perfect planning, tyre conservation and precision… WE WANT SIDEWAYS.

This is the latest in our series of  photo specials showcasing the stunning images from the Cahier Archive. The collection, by photographers Bernard Cahier and his son Paul-Henri are part of a massive collection of 400 000 originals of which 17 000+ pictures are currently available on their website.
