There was much lampooning of the car, as the rear engine cover was much more bulbous than the rest of the field……in the end however, this engine proved dominant, and the gamble paid off…..one must remember however that the following year, Penske missed the race entirely, neither Emmo or Little Al able to get up to speed in Penske’s own chassis…..
