Just stumbled across these classic Shell ads uploaded by Richie Ginther’s son Bret. Here is what he says about the commercials.

“I found a few 16mm reels from my dad’s archives and had them converted to digital. This is an undated (ca 1966?) era commercial my father did for Shell oil. The true jewel in this is hearing the Ford GT with my dad piloting it. I hope you enjoy this clip. I have uploaded another Shell commercial of same era with a triple endoresement. Enjoy.”

    I have a bunch of hand written letters from Richie when he was living in Rosarito, Mexico. I was producing the first documentary on Shelby, and had gotten in touch with Richie to have him come to Palm Springs to be part of it. I’d love to touch base with Bret again..
