Submitted by on July 6, 2012

Barry Sheene

“A larrikin with a heart of gold, who changed the face of Grand Prix bike racing forever, and some believe we’ll never see another rider like Barry Sheene again.”

This brilliant documentary is the Australian Channel Ten’s tribute to Barry Sheene – a legend on the track, in the paddock and in life in general.

“He’s got on the back brake, he’s brought the front down, the fronts compressed the forks, his feet have slipped off the footrests and banged his tackle on the tank no doubt.”

The documentary kicks off where it all began with a look at his career racing motorcycles, before expending to detail his life in Australia, his career as a commentator and to commend his contributions to motorsport and the people involved in it at every level. His wife Stephanie joins the likes of Dick Johnson, Mick Doohan and Russell Ingall in celebrating the life of a masterful motorcycle racer, and a great man.
