For Sale: Ex-Goss Group C Falcon Coupe

Submitted by on October 17, 2012

Goose Coupe

Owned and raced by John Goss from 1975 to the end of 1978, this Group C Falcon hardtop is Australian racing royalty, and up for sale over at Ecurie Investments.

Group C regulations introduced in the early ’70s allowed wider tyres, more powerful engines and less stringent homologation laws, which produced some brilliant racing and amazing machines.

And the hardtop Falcon was among the best of them. This car had its first taste of the track in the 1975 Bathurst 1000 with Goss and Kevin Bartlett at the wheel, and went on to race at all of Australia’s great events, often at the hands of racing greats, Formula One, Bathurst and Le Mans winners like Sir Jack Brabham, his son Geoff and Henri Pescarolo.

Moffat & Goss

In 1976 Allan Moffat drove it during his ATCC-winning campaign, taking a round win in Adelaide and securing second in the following round at Lakeside.

Goss ran it in four rounds during 1978 before selling it to Rod Stevens who ran it selectively in ’79. From there it was sold on several times before making its way into the hands of Falcon hardtop expert Kerry Turley, who embarked on an extensive research project before producing one of the finest racing hardtop Falcon restorations seen to date.

It is in glorious condition, with a complete and significant racing history and well documented path of ownership, making it perfect for a spot of historic racing, or a place in a collector’s stable.
