In 1969 Ford gifted this car to Allan Moffat, and they would get on famously. They won 101 out of 150 races and at their best held every outright touring car lap record in Australia simultaneously.

The car is the second of seven race cars produced for 1969 and was hand assembled from a kit straight from Kar Kraft. Under the hood is a 5942cc eight-cylinder Ford Boss 302, breathing through four 48 IDA Webers and putting out 485 bhp.

Moffat first met the car at JFK in New York before they returned to Australia together. Their first race would be at Sandown, where they beat Ian Geoghegan, Norm beechey and Bob Jane to take the world-first victory for a ’69 Trans Am Mustang.

Moffat kept the car for a quarter-century before selling it to David Bowden.
