For Gabriel Petit de Meurville, much like for ourselves, the history of motor racing is an inspiration. Luckily for us, this inspiration has led him to create some truly awesome artworks in the form of ‘Exciting Figures’. These are near to life size standing figures based on his drawings of motorsport greats like Jackie Stewart, Mike Hawthorn, Juan Manuel Fangio, Enzo Ferrari, Tazio Nuvolari, Stirling Moss, Ayrton Senna, Graham Hill, Jim Clark and even stars like Steve Mcqueen and youngsters such as Valentino Rossi.

If you are looking for something specific, Exciting Figures offers a customisation service in which you can commission a work based on photographs you provide.

Each artwork comes in two pieces; the figure itself and a display stand and is designed for interior decoration. At £160 a pop, however, they don’t come cheap.

I can see a great classic garage coming together with pieces like these; a nice retro getaway. I particularly like the image of Enzo standing with Tazio Nuvolari next to the Alfa. It gives me a real Who Framed Roger Rabbit vibe.
