Dick Mann Honda CB750 Race Replica

Submitted by on March 9, 2011

Check out these wonderful images of a Dick Mann Honda CB750 replica, shot at Deus ex Machina in Sydney.

The Dick Mann Honda CB750 owns a special piece of moto history. It was the bike that gave Honda its first ever AMA national win and for rider DickĀ  Mann, who had been racing in the 200 for 15 years and was runner-up three times, he was finally able to reach his dream of standing on the top step of the podium.

Dick had ridden like a man possessed that day in March, 1970 and held off early challenges from former world champion Mike Hailwood and, later in the race, rising stars Gene Romero and Gary Nixon.

After 200 miles, the race was his, but Honda would have to wait another 17 years to taste the victory Champagne at Daytona.
