The Flying Lap: The Williams Legacy with Peter Windsor

Submitted by on March 19, 2011

Andy Hallbery tipped me off to this fabulous web TV show hosted by Peter Windsor called The Flying Lap.

Most of the episodes cover the latest happenings in Formula 1, but in this clip Peter talks to Frank Williams and Patrick Head about about the history, past and present, of the Williams F1 team.

Highlights of  the interview with Sir Frank include discussion about the new Williams FW33 car and his current drivers, but most relevant to Motorsport Retro readers is when Peter asks Sir Frank to talk about former Williams drivers including Alan Jones, Piers Courage, Carlos Reutemann, Clay Regazzoni, Juan Pablo Montoya, Nigel Mansell.

Patrick Head, the Director of Engineering comes on the show and provides commentary about modern Formula 1 issues like KERS, movable wings, the other teams in the pit lane, budgets and covers all manner of related racing topics.

The show concludes with Peter answering questions from the audience.

Worth a watch.
