Legends of the Road and Track

Submitted by on July 10, 2011

Every now and then, we like to get a little sophisticated in our appreciation of the golden years of motorsport. And it’s easy enough to do – motorsport has inspired artists to produce some truly stunning and evocative work. Not least of which are these gloriously retro posters from Pullman Limited Editions.

Their latest collection, ‘HISTORIC FERRARI: Legends of Road and Track 1949 – 1974’, is an Art Deco look at the classic Ferraris of that period, and their exploits on the road and track. It features some truly brilliant posters for classic events around the world, like the Targa Florio, 24 Hours of Le Mans, 12 Hours of Sebring and Nürburgring 1000 kms.

Ferrari’s most beautiful machines, such as the 275 GTB/4 and 250 GT Testa Rossa, and their racing contemporaries, take pride of place in the designs, which capture the thrill and speed of motorsport brilliantly.

The collection encompasses three distinct Art Deco styles, and I am particularly fond of the impressionistic look of the Daytona ’67 poster. Looks like it could be time to update the office decor!

Enjoy them, and head to the Pullman Limited Editions website for the full gallery, or to pick one up.
