Based on the 959, the Porsche 961 was the only four-wheel-drive car to ever race at Le Mans. On its debut in 1986 it finished an impressive seventh overall, but unfortunately the following year – it crashed and caught fire.
This car is the one and only 961 built. It was restored over a two year perios to its pre-fire glory before being put on display in the Porsche factory museum. The 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed was the very first time it has been seen outside Stuttgart since Le Mans 1987.
