Vintage Motocross Jerseys

Submitted by on December 24, 2009

Here are some super shots of Motocross jerseys, worn during battle by some of the best riders to ever throw a leg over a bike.

The evolution in design can be clearly seen as we go from the simple bold colours of Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki  in the 70s to the sponsor heavy Fox, JT , HRP and DG jerseys of the 1980s.

For me the coolest of them all is David Bailey’s number 1 Honda JT Racing jersey from 1986. White jerseys were all the rage in the mid eighties and with the red and blue of the Honda logo, this jersey looks great.

Featured in this collection are:

Roger DeCoster’s 1979 Suzuki jersey (Five time World Motocross Champion)

Ricky Johnson’s 1986  Fox Racing jersey (Seven time AMA  National champion in Motocross and Supercross)

Bob Hannah’s HRP gear from the 1980s (Seven time AMA  National champion in Motocross and Supercross)

Gary Jones’s 1972 Yamaha jersey ( Four time AMA 250 National Champion)

Mark Barnett’s Fox Racing jersey (Four time AMA National champion in Motocross and Supercross)

Jimmy Weinert’s Classic 1974 Kawasaki jersey ( Three time AMA National champion in Motocross and Supercross)

Alessandro Puzar’s Chesterfield Suzuki jersey  (1990 250cc World Champion)

David Bailey’s JT Racing jerseys from 1984 and 1986 (Five time AMA National champion in Motocross and Supercross)

Hakan Andersson’s 1974 Yamaha Jersey (1973 250cc World Champion)
