FIA Historic Formula One set for classic season

The FIA Historic Formula One Championship dates for 2011 have been confirmed, with the championship visiting some fabulous venues.

After a long absence, the Historic Formula One Championship returns to the old A1 Ring, now rebuilt and renamed the Red Bull Ring.

The Championship has received an invitation from Red Bull to be part of the official re-opening of the circuit.

HFO will be the only races at the event, but Red Bull have a whole host of activities planned including attendance of Red Bull Racing with Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.

The Red Bull Ring event will feature two HFO races, a sprint race on Saturday and the usual longer race on Sunday.

2011 Calendar:

Round 1 – Hockenheim, Germany – 15-17 April  – Jim Clark

Round 2 and 3 –  A1 Ring, Austria  13-15 May- Reopening of circuit as Redbull ring

Round 4 – Monza, Italy- 3-5 June – Coppa Intereuropa

Round 5 – Brands Hatch, UK -2-3 July – HSCC SuperPrix

Round 6  – Nurburgring, Germany –9-11 September- Eifelrennen

Round 7 and 8- Paul Ricard, France – 7-9 October- Dix Mille

Round 9 and 10 – Portimao, Portugal – 21-23 October- Algarve Historic
