2011 Phillip Island Classic Gallery

Submitted by on April 17, 2011

I love Porsches. I especially love old Porsches; the faster and more outlandish the better. So I was thrilled to hear that Porsche would be celebrating its 60 years of motorsport in Australia at this year’s Phillip Island Classic, and that I would get to meet old heroes like the 935/78 “Moby Dick”, a stable of 956/962s, a 908-02 and more.

And the Porsches were fantastic, but I found so much more. Like an honorary Gendarme fearlessly hanging the back of her 105 year old, 14 and a quarter litre Darracq GP all the way out around Honda corner, and another old favourite – a Lancia Stratos rally monster. And a Ford GT40. And a flock of fearless Mini drivers banging wheels with old muscle. And a trio of mesmerizing Maseratis. And the list goes on and on.

Check out this gallery of photographs from my weekend.
