Video: The sound of 62 years of F1 cars launching off the line

The subject of the noise of an F1 car has been in the press a lot of late. The planned introduction of a V6 for 2014 has moved Bernie to threaten to sue the FIA if “Formula 1 loses its distinctive sound“. So the sound of an F1 car is serious business. Well what a treat then it is to turn up this video and listen to F1 cars from every era of Formula 1 launch off the line at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. For my money the 1993 Williams struck a particularly lovely note.
