Submitted by on August 22, 2011

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic Ferrari’s 250 GTO, 26 of these exclusive sports racing cars were on show at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Designed for the 1962 FIA Group 3 Grand Touring Car season, the 250 GTO kicked off its racing career with a victory. Reining World Champion Phil Hill and Olivier Gendebien drove the 300-bhp aluminum bodied V-12 to second overall and won the GT class comfortably, at the 12 hours of Sebring in 1962.

Out of the 36 cars that were made between ’62/’63, 26 of them were at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Each is worth about $25 million.
