This one of a kind 1974 911 3.0L RS replica was built to compete at the highest level in Australia’s Tarmac Rally championship. It has done just done 10,000 km since its inception in 2008 and still looks like a newly built car.

It was based on a factory RHD 1986 911 Carrera (M491 option) wide body with turbo brakes and suspension.
The build was commissioned with the instructions ‘leave no stone unturned’ in every department ie weight reduction, performance etc….

To begin, the chassis was completely stripped and acid dipped to remove every factory coating from the car. All superfluous brackets and the like were removed to save weight, additional chassis strengthening was added where required and a -non sunroof- roof was installed. To meet the highest safety standards a chromoly FIA approved custom fabricated roll cage was installed. The cage was stitched into the A pillars, B pillars and rear suspension strut top mounts to aid chassis stiffness and strength.

To save weight, lightweight GRP front guards, bonnet and Front / Rear bumpers were fitted and finished in Porsche-s iconic signal orange. Then the reassembly and installation of all the expensive bits began.

In the engine department, the car has a twin plug 3.5L engine with PMO carbs and MSD twin ignition making approx 340 HP, mated to a custom set of high flow headers with ‘x’ pipe custom muffler. With this kind of HP pushing only 980 odd KG it makes for an extremely quick car.
Brakes were upgraded to 993 Twin Turbo floating discs front, GT3 rear, dual master cylinder pedal box and hydraulic hand brake.
Suspension consists of MCA coil over shock absorbers with 3 way adjustable remote mounted reservoirs. 935 front A arms and adjustable spring plates, fully adjustable tarrett sway bars.

Engine lubrication is dry sump with forward mounted oil tank / filter and carbon fibre braided lines running front to rear.
The 915 gearbox is fitted with a set of custom ratios , external trans cooler and is linked to the wevo shifter by wevo precision couplings.
