Gallery: Hungarian rally madness 1975-84

We recently stumbled across a gold mine of photographs taken during what looks to have been various Hungarian rally and road-race events during the 1970s and 80s. In the air, in the dirt, in the trees, in the ditch – these guys weren’t scared of pushing tin!

We love slightly more obscure finds like this at Motorsport Retro, and talk about weird and wonderful – simply identifying many of the oddball cars in this gallery is a challenge! We’ve gone through and selected the best shots on offer, which have been collated into the gallery below. If you look closely, you might even spy a USSR marking or two.
