Video: Fernando Alonso and the Ferrari 512S

A special day for Fernando Alonso, as he slips behind the wheel of the 512S at Le Mans 2014.

Fernando Alonso is certainly no stranger to driving fast Ferraris – however the 1970 512S is more than just a race car, it’s a stunningly beautiful piece of Ferrari history. Alonso was present at the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans to wave the start at the commencement of the race, and whilst he was there he was also allowed to cut a lap of the iconic circuit behind the wheel of a car which competed there more than 40 years ago. The crowd loved it!

Alonso is currently in fourth place overall in the 2014 Formula 1 World Championship, his best finish so far this year was at the Chinese Grand Prix, where he came third.
