2011 British Superbike Championship

Three laps of the finest and closest superbike racing you’ll see decided the 2011 British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch.

Going into the last race of the day Shane Byrne was safe in third place for the riders’ title, but out of championship contention. He sprinted into the lead of Race 3 and left the rest of the field in his dust, setting up a thrilling title fight between John Hopkins and Tommy Hill as they scrapped for second place.

Their respective points hauls meant that whoever finished in front would take the Championship, and neither would give an inch. It all reached fever pitch in the closing laps of the race as the two evenly-matched riders put on one of the greatest motoring dices ever recorded.

In the end 0.0006 of a second and two points separated 2011 British Superbike Champion from second place. Regardless of who finished where, this race is surely a legacy to be proud of.

Prepare to spend some quality time on the edge of your seat, and enjoy!
