Retro – Kurt Caselli Foundation KTM 450

Submitted by on January 27, 2015

Kurt Caselli BikeThe story of a fantastic bike, built for an even better reason. Take a look at the Kurt Caselli Foundation KTM 450.

There are a whole of great retro-inspired dirt bike builds out there, however few were planned and executed for reasons as pure as this KTM desert sled.

RSD-Caselli-20_OriginalThe story goes that Red Bull North America wanted to build a bike to promote the release of ‘On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter’. The film was a follow up to the unforgettable 1971 Classic ‘On Any Sunday’, so the bike which was to be used for the aforementioned promotions had to be something special. RSD-Caselli-28_OriginalThe nature of the ’71 classic meant that a flat tracker, hill climber or road racer could have easily have been built to support the release of the sequel. RSD-Caselli-17_OriginalWhat they decided to go with was this desert sled, built in memory of much loved offroad racer Kurt Caselli. Caselli lost his life at the 2013 Baja 1000, and remains dearly missed by the greater community.  RSD-Caselli-4

The following video explains the awesome tale of this beautiful machine in detail, enjoy.
