Weekend Docco: Audi’s Unfair Advantage

Submitted by on April 8, 2016

Audi's Unfair Advantage

Take some time out this weekend to uncover Audi’s secrets of speed.

‘The Unfair Advantage’ recounts the development of Audi’s Quattro all wheel drive, and tracks its awe-inspiring performance through rally, TransAm, IMSA GTO and more.

The mini-documentary originally ran in ESPN’s Secrets of Speed. It kicks off with Dr. Ferdinand Piëch, engineer behind Porsche’s 917, moving on from Porsche to Audi to continue his work pushing motorsport performance forward. Thus began Audi’s development of their signature Quattro all wheel drive system.

The film is packed with great period footage from the World Rally Championship, Pikes Peak, SCCA TransAm and IMSA GTO and features on-board and interviews from some of Audi’s legendary drivers – Walter Röhrl, Michèle Mouton, Bobby Unser, Hurley Haywood and Hans-Joachim Stuck.

Put your feet up, settle in, and enjoy!
