Video: The story of Phil Hill and his love of racing photography

Phil Hill, the 1961 Formula One World Champion also happened to be a very keen photographer.  In this video, his son, Derek Hill, explains the project to compile his father’s images and stories into a photo book, called “Inside Track” due out soon.Phil determination to show “the folks back home” where he had been, and what he had seen, was a key driver in why he loaded his 35mm Leica M3 with color-true Kodachrome film at race track around the world.

In collaboration with acclaimed motorsport author, Doug Nye, the book titled “Inside Track”, will be a two-volume work that will include over 900 of Phil Hill’s photographs taken over the course of his career.
