For Sale: 1965 Brabham BT16 F2

Submitted by on August 14, 2009

The Classic Throttle Shop currently has this little beauty for sale.

Brabham Chassis No F2-8-65 was bought directly from the factory at Byfleet in the UK by John Coombes Racing. The John Coombes F2 racing team main driver was Graham Hill, who later went on to become F1 World Champion. Graham Hill raced the car in the F2 formula both in the UK and on the continent using a 1litre Formula 2 BRM engine.

Overall the car featured prominently in the top three finishers in both the UK and the continent during the seasons of ’65 and ’66 in the hands of  Hill.

The car has undergone a complete restoration which was commenced by Rob McMillan and now completed after nearly 6 years. The car has been perfectly restored with a great attention to detail and no expense spared. It recently had its first test and shake down prior to the Tasman Revival Meeting where it successfully completed 30 trouble free laps.
