Mitchell Curated from the United Kingdom has this former Spa 1000 km winning Ford GT1 for sale, built by the renowned Swiss engineering firm Matech Concepts.

Chassis 004 is one only six Ford’s built to GT1 specification for the former FIA GT1-championship. This car in particular was raced by the Marc VDS Racing Team.

Matech debuted back in 2007 with a GT3-class Ford GT that had lots of potential. The following year the team captured the FIA GT3 European Team Championship.

From that moment Matech wanted to move up to the GT1 category. Matech kreeg vervolgens in 2009 toestemming vanuit Ford North America Motorsports om een GT1 variant te ontwikkelen.

The final design resulted in a beast of a car, powered by a 5.3-liter V8 developed by Roush Yates. Four GT1 chassis were developed for the 2010 FIA GT1 Championship.

Two were fielded by Matech Competition and the other two by Marc VDS Racing; chassis MR10FORDGT1SN004 was one of the latter.

Although the car driven by Markus Paltalla and Renaud Kuppens retired early during its debut in Abu Dhabi and subsequently finished tenth at Silverstone, the tide turned for the team during the 1000 km of Spa. Paltalla, together with Erick de Doncker and Bas Leinders, not only secured pole position but also won the six-hour race.
